Little Miss Drop Stitch

Little Miss Drop Stitch came to life overnight…with over a decade of preparation!

Rachel has been enjoying crafts for a long time and wanted to use her knowledge to explore designing and educate others. Rachel has been heavily inspired by her international woolly trips to explore beyond UK pattern design and styles in heritage crafts. So, with some wool from Ireland, her first knitting pattern came into existence. Rachel is bursting with lots of ideas for other projects in a variety of media.

Little Miss Drop Stitch is for everyone and celebrates international people and craft, however, we are, at times, quintessentially British. Crafting also means tea and cake! So, join Rachel for a brew or two and relax whilst watching our content and engaging with us.

Little Miss Drop Stitch is about you and us. For you, we are passionate about education and free tutorials. At Little Miss Drop Stitch we believe that being an adult is the best time to learn. Children are like sponges, but adults have better dexterity for crafts and greater retention of new skills. Learning a new skill as an adult can be daunting and, sometimes, feel embarrassing, but LMDS is a safe space to ask ‘silly’ questions and just give it a go!

Our second ethos sustainability. With rising living costs here in the UK, Little Miss Drop Stitch is all the more inspired to make do and mend. Rachel has been reflecting on the sustainability of her hobbies and aims to complete projects (don’t we all!), reuse leftovers and when all this is done, get super excited about scrappy projects! She wants to explore visible mending, Boro and Sachiko.

Now it’s time to connect with Little Miss Drop Stitch in the ways that are accessible to you. We have YouTube for video tutorials, honest product reviews and just about everything else. This website, where you are now, will be a catalogue of patterns, blog posts and resources. Finally, there is facebook and Instagram to keep up to date with new content and releases: patterns are currently on Etsy and Ravelry. However you choose to access LMDS, we would love you to connect with us and be a part of this threaded adventure. With your comments and input, we can cover hot topics, answer questions and make tutorials on what you really want to know.

Take care,
