I really enjoyed designing this pattern because projects like this are perfect for using your stash, but it always annoys me when the pattern isn’t for the yarn weight I have.
This pattern has instructions for 4ply, DK, Aran and chunky yarn (or fingering, sport, worsted and bulky), in addition to instructions for knitting flat and in the round. So, perfect for beginners or those wanting to try new techniques without feeling daunted. Experienced knitters will enjoy the simplicity of the design, whilst staying interested with the moss stitch pattern.
We can’t wait to see what you make. Why not try the instructions for marled pumpkins and use two yarns at once? The chunky moss stitch pumpkin would make a fabulous door stop: I would recommend filling a zip lock bag with sand or sugar and placing inside before sewing up. The 4ply pumpkin is a real baby and ideal for last minute makes or using those beautiful sock mini skeins.
